Welcome

Greetings all, we are all embarking on a new journey in life. It seems with everyday there is a different twist and turn in the road you are traveling. Take each day one at a time. That is what I'm doing!

We did an exercise this week that was for relaxation. For me it did not have the effectiveness I would like to get from it. My mind was going all sorts of places while I laid there still. My arms did not fill up with blood as the narrator tried to suggest. I was thinking of events that were in front of me. I was calmed by the first deep breath while thinking relax but I was back to the races of my mind right after that.

Look forward to the upcoming weeks in this journey! Much success to you all!

  2. I'm glad to bring cheer! But did your arms fill up with blood and get heavy?

  5. I enjoyed reading about your experience with this week’s exercise. Sorry, to hear it did not work out well for you. I have tried a few other relaxation exercises where I faced the same dilemma; my mind would wander all over the place. However, with this particular exercise, I had a good experience. I found the man’s voice to be very relaxing, and easy to follow. I did feel the warmth and heavy sensation in my arms. As the exercise concluded, I felt a lot less muscle tension as well as rejuvenated. Needless, to say I will be further utilizing this exercise. Have you tried other guided imagery exercises, if so were they effective?
    Thanks for sharing your experience!

  6. Hello,

It is too bad that the relaxation exercise did not work as well as what it does for many others. I think many people have a difficult time from keeping our minds from wandering and racing with everything we have to get done in day. I know I struggle with this. If deep breathing worked for a moment, I would experiment more with deep breathing exercises and see if they help you relax.

    Thanks for sharing,

  7. Hello, the relaxation exercise did not work for me as well as I wanted it to. Things work different for different people. Taking a long walk or just being by yourself is a good way for me to relax.

  8. Hello! I liked your blog post. :) Do you suppose you would try something like this again, and try to meditate and clear your head more? For some, meditation is achieved in total silence, while others, like myself, need some sort of ambient music. You should try it!
